Version 4.2

March 11, 2022 By

It’s been about three months, which is a long time, and much has happened since then. I promise we did not forget about this website or you guys.

Today we bring you a new partner, who you have likely seen around already. A huge shout-out to CyberFox Armory for joining the team and bringing not one, but three of his amazing helmets to the site:

  • The Stormbringer Classic
  • The Stormbringer Commando
  • The Mythosaur Hunter

With these we take a first step into the Crusader era, which we haven’t explored so far, so we are especially excited.

Along with new Helmets, we also bring you new Decals.

  • The Mando’a numbers from the MandoAF font by AurekFonts
  • The Aurebesh numbers as seen in The Clone Wars.
  • Some basic shapes: Crescent moon, semi- and quarter circle, Arrow, dashed and dotted lines, and a checkerboard pattern
  • The Covert symbol as seen in the Mandalorian show.
  • A crosshair and a mythosaur tusk

To help with placing multiple decals across your armor, we added buttons to duplicate a decal and to mirror a decal over to the other side of the armor.

Because placing individual letters is q bit tedious, we created a separate website to write in one of the many Mando’a fonts out there. We call it the Transcripticon. We gave you six fonts to choose from, but you can add more. All you need is a font file and it should work perfectly. You can then download your writing and use it as a custom decal (or just send it to your friends to see if they can decipher it).
You might be familiar with this from transcribe.mandoa.org, but we gave it that extra MandoCreator touch.

Huge thanks to the wonderful vod for helping us create our very own fonts, called MandoaKajil and MandoaBriik. Check them out and let us hear what you think.

Finally, we added a Share button, so as long as you use a browser that supports it (sorry, Firefox users) you can directly share your creation to your socials without downloading it first. Note that not all socials apps work with this feature, such a WhatsApp on iOS. There is nothing I can do about it, because I don’t work for Facebook. In such cases, please just download the image and send it manually, as you’re already used to.

In addition to all of the above, there were many, many code changes behind the scenes. Ideally you should not notice anything different, other than that certain actions are now a lot snappier (page load, undo/redo, switching from male to female). Ideally. But if we have learned anything in the past year and a half, then it is that nothing is ever perfect on MandoCreator, so if you encounter a problem please let me know as quickly (and as detailed) as possible.

Until then, enjoy. Build. Share.
