Version 3.0

April 17, 2021 By

Finally! I know it’s been a few months, and I know it looks like we’ve been slacking. But today you can convince yourself that we have been hard at work this whole time. With Version 3.0, we made some very big changes, to make the site better than ever before.

New: The Armor Gallery
Browse user-submitted designs for inspiration, and use the Creator to customize them further. If you have new designs you would like to contribute, post them in #gallery-submissions for our consideration.

We thank all the great people who submitted designs already!

New: Progressive Web App
In an effort to optimize (read: remove) load times, we turned the site into a PWA. This means, you can now install it locally on your Phone, just like an App. Currently, the best support is offered by Google Chrome with Firefox and Safari lagging behind a little, but as time goes on, support will improve.
For instructions on how to install a WebApp, please consult the magical knowledge of Google (or a different search engine of your choice)

New: Undo/Redo
I get it. All too often do we accidentally change the color of a piece. Or we try a new idea and realize that it doesn’t look nearly as good as we thought. Now, you can undo such mistakes. And to go all the way, if you realize that undoing a mistake was actually a bigger mistake, you can now redo your mistakes. Did I say that right? Sure.

Note: This feature is very experimental, so don’t expect any miracles from it. It can only change colors, not armor pieces.

New: JPEG download
Finally, the days of only downloading in a superior vectorized format are gone. At last, we can go back to the old days, where we were limited to rasterized images like JPEG, which look awful when scaled up. We love that nostalgic feeling.

You can now decide whether you want to download your creation as SVG or as JPEG. Keep in mind that only SVGs can be re-uploaded to continue editing. So choose wisely!

New: The Grunt and Ursa Wren by Lonewolf Customs
After adding their Executioner Helmet a while back, Lonewolf Customs has stepped up their game with two more of their awesome designs: The Grunt and Ursa Wren. As always, keep in mind that our partners decide which Earcap Attachments to offer, it’s not our decision.

New: Ramikadyc
In addition to the two new helmets from Lonewolf, we are also happy to present the Ramikadyc Helmet. With these new additions, we are now up to a whopping 25 helmets to pick from!

New: Visors
During our Visor design contest, we got plenty of amazing designs. The winners of that contest have been added to the Classic Helmet now, so you can use them to make your helmet more unique. Unfortunately, this means that some uploads might not remember the visor color properly. We apologize for any inconvenience.

As always, we look forward to seeing your creations. With all these new tools at your disposal, it should be easier to create than ever before. If not, then we are open to more suggestions.
